When you know couple for quite a few years, you do get to know a lot about them. They exhibit likes and dislikes, they tease each other and yet are always there making sure their partner is happy and content. What they don’t always do is mention where and when they met and actually got married. Well this is something that can be jolly helpful when you suddenly realise that they’re organising their own golden wedding anniversary bash. What do you buy a couple who literally have everything they think they need – they’ve got the toaster; the top over with grill combined; the airfryer that doubles as a grill for cheesy topped dishes etc. They have generally got every knick-knack out there and need nothing particular for the garden either.
A flash of inspiration can come at any moment – that blinding light idea you suddenly realise is the perfect gift; and it can come from even the most unlikely sources. For example, some chums were discussing the news that an ancient church in a nearby village was to be closed for good. Much sadness abounding, the chums were discussing the last time they attended that church, and other nearby ones. Then someone introduced the topic of where they had each got married – most were very local and at least 3 were at the same doomed chapel. The discussion then turned to which year, and who had attended whose weddings etc. It was at this point when one pair said theirs had been fifty years in the coming autumn. Well as it was recently announced their wedding church was closing, the rest of the chums decided to source a kitchen clock beautifully etched with the image of the church in question with the correct time and date of their wedding. That was such a fantastic idea. A beautiful keepsake and particularly useful too. A local company was able to supply the very item, after we sent in a photograph and description of the church. The clock face is really a gorgeous reminder for them as they look back all those years. A fantastic gift indeed and very well received.
